Establishing Aesthetic

So I’ve been dreaming up an ideal living space for my home for years, the dream, the color palette, the general “theme” has changed so many times but I’ve finally started to put something together and I’m trying my best to stick with it.
I’m poor so this dream is developing vv slowly but that’s okay
look at all this fun stuff I found to prioritize and watch for sales and buy in small bits at a time
1. The couch reupholstery is definitely at the top of my priority list but unfortunately it requires the most time to actually do it and with school and my work finding the time is not likely until after April
but
is the fabric I’ve chosen to use!
A gorgeous and versatile emerald green velvet
uhm SWOON
and for a ++++ it‘s super affordable

I seriously cannot wait to see what s big difference this fabric is going to make in our space.
2. We have been living without curtains in our living room for almost a year now and it drives me insane, but to be fair we have plaster walls and hanging curtain rods will be a challenge in and of itself, I digress
LOOK AT

these curtains have stolen my heart and I am dying to get my hands on them, they will be the perfect addition to surround my beautifully reupholstered velvet green couch, amirite or amirite?
3. The rug in our living room right now is v v old and it’s beautiful and handwoven and OMG gigantic like no joke I think its like 12‘x14’ if not bigger, but it is not the rug that fuels my fire
its just not.
but
one might be the one that does
those curves
those colors
the cohesiveness with previously mentioned curtains.

4.
is not a huge detail but it basically screams my name every time I see it.
i love the color, the texture, the BEES and you simply can’t tell me it won’t look SO cute on a green velvet couch!!

5. Lighting. Our living room does not have overhead lighting and we absolutely need a lamp in there cause lemme tell you it gets dark in there. I haven’t found a lamp that just really gives me the kind of “IM THE ONE” vibe yet but I think
super simple tripod lamp would fit in well with the general aesthetic I’m striving for and that plain lampshade is dying for a DIY.

It’s basic AF but maybe that’s what all is velvet needs to calm down a lil bit
6. A sweet little pompon basket for our slippers to go in.
basket just gives me the warm fuzzies inside, James and are both almost never barefoot in our house we have slippers and this little basket to keep under the coffee table to hold our slippers is exactly the kind of cute warm fuzzy thing our living will need.

And last but definitely not least wall art, I’ve been creating some of my own on my iPad to have printed to create a gallery wall but I stumbled upon
print and I think it would be perfect above the couch and in between the windows. It’s so fun and just fits so well with the rest of the colors in the room.

I have so many plans for this room, its where we spend most of our time when we‘re home so I want it to be functional and beautiful and cozy all at the same time.
Rome wasn’t built in a day though my friends, this will take time but now you can see what I see I hope.
thanks for reading!
